Dragonflight

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we all experienced abnormal isolation. With the goal in mind to bring individuals of a specific interest together from a specific region, I created the Dragonflight app to give dart players of Italy a platform to connect. Dragonflight is linked to the dragonfly insect. Like dragonflies, dart players have excellent vision. Dragonflies are also precise with their killings of other insects, making them the one of the predators of the insect world. Similarly, dart players also have great presicion with their throwing. The app name Dragonflight takes the first part of dragonfly then replaces “fly” with “flight”. This is the name for the tail of the dart that allows it to cut and float through the air similar to how the dragonfly’s independently functioning wings allow extreme agility while flying.

The Dragonflight logo features a combination of a dart and a dragonfly. The tail features the pattern of a dragonfly using the colors of a classic dartboard. The color version of the Dragonflight name uses a red dot for the "i' to match the bullseye of a dartboard.

Log-In-3

The login page was kept simple while featuring the name and logo of the app.

Feed-1

The main page called "The Pond", inspired by the dragonfly's habitat, is where the feed of all posts come together. Similar to other social media apps, posts can be liked/favorited, reposted, and replied to.

Profile-1

The profile page features the usual profile page information with the addition of your rank within Italy including your wins and losses from sanctioned competitions. There are also white darts that can be acquired through varying competition levels. One dart is for verified dart players of any level, two darts are for players that have played in a sanctioned competition and three darts are for verified professional dart players.

Search-1

The search page is where users of the app can find other users via searching their display name or username.

Locator-1

The last page is an effort to make it easier to find places to play. Users can search a city within Italy, and results will display which pubs within that city have been confirmed to have playable dartboards.
